Music Week took place during the week of the 21st of October.
The week began with music being played in the atrium in the morning time and
each student receiving Loreto Balbriggan’s annual Music Week Sticker.
A competition took place which involved part of a song being played over the intercom each day. Students were invited to guess the song and maybe win a prize at the end of the week.
There were pop up concerts taking place throughout the week performed by the students and staff members. Some of these performances included The Senior Choir, The Staff Choir, The Schools Ukulele Group, The School’s Dance Group, Class Groups and Solo Performers.
The music students also had the opportunity to take part in an African Drumming Workshop on Monday.
The week created a great musical atmosphere in the school and was a perfect chance to display all of the musical talent that our school has.

  4th Year Entrants for BTYS The first of October brought about the application deadline for the Bt Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2021. This year the exhibition will take place virtually from January 6th to 8th. However, this didn’t stop our students from entering. We have seven total entries with 6 of them being 4th-year students.    Hiba Shahzad and Isabella Watts. Project Title: The Effects of ASMR on Stress Levels and Loneliness in Teenage Girls   This project will target students in our school, aged between twelve and eighteen years. They will use a mindfulness video as their positive control and a non ASMR related video as their negative control to be shown along with the ASMR video to three separate groups. EU Contest for Young Scientist

Our Visit to the EU Contest for Young Scientists On Monday, the 17 th of September, a group of very lucky students from 1 st to 4 th year stood in the school courtyard, shivering with the cold, waiting to go to the EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS).  Ireland was very lucky this year to host this prestigious competition, and we were excited for it as well, despite the bitter cold as we stood waiting outside. Finally, warm coaches arrived to take us to the RDS, where the exhibition was being held. Our excitement began to build throughout the journey. The exhibition was better than we had hoped! We met some past – pupils on arrival, such as Diana Bura, Khadija Gull and Renuka Chintapalli. We strolled around the exhibitions all morning, marvelling at each project, and yearning to some day reach this impossibly high standard.
